Photocamp
...an unconference devoted to photography...
To promote the creation of affordable unconference events with themes around photography where the delegates are also deliver the sessions – in an open and sharing environment
An unconference is a small conference where the content is provided by the attendees!
Each conference will have only a basic structure until it starts, at which point people will be asked to contribute sessions that they want to present. A session should last between 5 and 30 minutes and can cover any topic related to photography!
The framework is loosely based on the succesful BarCamp unconferences. As BarCamps developed and grew in popularity a set of guiding principles evolved that have now been used for many BarCamps. We're all for building on experience, so we'll be encouraging all attendees to make use of the rules (shown below).
Principles of Open Space
- Whoever comes is the right people
attendees of a session or class are "right" simply because they cared to attend - Whatever happens is the only thing that could have
pay attention to events of the moment, instead of worrying about what could possibly happen - Whenever it starts is the right time
the lack of any given schedule or structure should emphasises creativity and innovation - When it's over, it's over
don't waste time - move on to something else when the fruitful discussion ends
Law of 2 Feet
If at any time during our time together you find yourself in any situation where you are neither learning nor contributing, use your two feet. Go to some other place where you may learn and contribute.
We have a simple ethos, which is detailed here.
